October Reading Wrap-up!

Happy Halloween, beasties!

Today is the last day of October, and you know what that means? Let's eat all the candy we want!! Okay, maybe not?

But speaking of candy! This month marked another successful book exchange!

I hosted my first ever, Trick or Treat book exchange! You can find more details here. And it was so fun to see what everyone got! I especially loved what I got from Ashley, @alittlebookhoarder. She decided to really go out there with the "only one bag of sweets" this one definitely trumps the 1 pound bag of chocolates I received during my first Valentine's exchange! Ashley sent me a massive bag of Halloween favorites! Alongside that, she sent me my "TREAT" book of Clown in a Cornfield, I've had my eye on this one for so long. I can't wait to read this! Thank you, Ashley!

I love to host these exchanges and I'm already looking forward to the next. The next being, my second annual Secret Santa Book and Sock exchange! I know this was a favorite last year and several have been asking about it again this year! Registration will be opening in mid-November!

But besides candy, being the last day of the month, it does mean its time for a reading wrap-up!

I definitely did not read as much as I had hoped. I'm still in this weird slump, where I want to read but my mind isn't always focused on reading. Plus, I'm going through some personal things that are just sort of preoccupying my mind at the moment, which is not at all helping my reading problem.

But even though I didn't read nearly as much as I had hoped. I did get through 8 books! I think that's still a great number of books to read in a month. I was honestly surprised by that number when I went to count up my reads for this post. So, yay me!

What did I read this month?

I finished the following books: Saga, Volume 3 by Brian K. Vaughan

Lore Olympus: Volume Three by Rachel Smythe

Locke & Key #6: Alpha & Omega by Joe Hill, Gabriel Rodríguez The Belle of Belgrave Square by Mimi Matthews

The Magnolia Palace by Fiona Davis

Fables to Depart By by Jayson Robert Ducharme The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes & Nocturnes by Neil Gaiman The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston

So that leads me to…

What am I currently still reading?

Here are all the books I'm still reading that I hope to finish soon!

To Capture His Heart by Nancy Campbell Allen

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Covet by Tracy Wolff

In the Shadow of a Queen by Heather B. Moore

What are my reading goals for November?

I definitely plan to finish my current reads! That's where I'd like to start! But other than those 4, I would really like to get through some of my BOTM picks and maybe, possibly, perhaps, finish the BOTM Reading Challenges for 2022. Or at least get close!

I wanted to loop back to these reading check-ins as well. While yes, I started doing these check-ins this month. I did it twice then skipped the last two weekends... Oops! I was simply just too busy. I still plan to keep doing these check-ins. I've really enjoyed them! I just need to find a pattern and balance that works for me! I might switch them back to posting during the week and give myself the weekends off again. I'm not entirely sure. But another goal I have is to figure this out and be more consistent with my reading updates for you all!

Until next time!
