Hello Beasties!

Who else loves the spooky season?

I love all things spooky! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I just love all the decorations and costumes and just everything spooky.

I wanted to do another reading challenge to help myself get through some more of my backlist books. Originally, I was thinking of another book bingo, similar to my romance bingo that I did earlier this year with horror tropes. But then I got this idea of incorporating a sort of apothecary, potion-making theme. But then I can allow myself to be more of a moodreader this way! The bingo reading challenge limits what I read by needing to follow what I draw. This new challenge is something new and different!

My Apothecary Readathon is fairly simple! The goal here is simply to gather ingredients by reading books! However, to add a bit of challenge, only one ingredient may be 'extracted' per book. Though the book must be finished in order to 'successfully collect' the ingredient, so if I DNF a book, I will lose out on whichever ingredient I was hoping to get.

The types of ingredients are completely up to me! It can be whatever I want it to be. And the books themselves don't even need to be specifically horror or spooky, either. It could even just be a fantasy. As long as it has something you might find in a magical potion! And I could also gather different ingredients from similar types of books, like I could gather various options from vampires - vampire blood, vampire fangs, vampire dust, etc. The possibilities are endless with this challenge! And I'm so excited!

That's why I've got my reading tracker only penciled out right now. As I gather my ingredients, I might change my mind with how I have it laid out. It will definitely be a work in progress throughout the month. I can't wait to see what I end up reading and the ingredients I will collect!

Until next time!
