09.30.2026 | September WRAP-UP

Hello, beasties!
This month was a STRUGGLE. I hit a bad reading slump. A mixture of life and work just had me absolutely exhausted and struggling to stay focused on reading anything. Even audiobooks couldn't keep me engaged. And it's not that I wasn't enjoying what I was reading either! Because I was enjoying the books I was picking up. Just the enjoyment of reading was simply not there enough to have me picking up books at my usual pace this year.
I do think a lot of it was I simply have not been in the right mental space to read. As I mentioned, life has just been a bit more exhausting than usual. So I've given myself a bit of grace to simply rest and not force myself too much to read.
Though I did still try to have myself read throughout the month. A mixture of backlist books and books that have caught my eye. And I managed to get through 7 books - 4 new reads, 3 backlist books, and I also had 1 DNF this month.
So what did I read this month?
I finished the following books:
4.5⭐
Unmasking My Dark Knight by Vivian Mae
4⭐
Slewfoot by BROM
The Beast by Katee Robert
Weyward by Emilia Hart
3.5 ⭐
The Hocus Pocus Handbook by Ann Aguirre
How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates by Shailee Thompson
3⭐
For You and Only You by Caroline Kepnes
Unfortunately, I did also have a DNF this month:
The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter
I’m currently reading:
Harbinger by Geneva Lee
Accepting Fate by J. Laine
It's Quiet Between Bites by Rebecca A. Noble
Haunt Me, Maybe by E.M. Rinaldi
Case of the Bleus by Korina Moss
I know one of my goals last month was to reduce my amount of current reads. And I seem to have made it worse. Oops! Haha! But the reading slump is definitely to blame for that. At this point I'm sort of taking each day one at a time and going with the flow! So we'll have to see where my mood takes me! Hopefully I can get through the rest of these current reads!
