I absolutely adore this traveling circus and can’t wait for the next book!

After a quick escape from the disaster of the last Merdwick show, Janie and Andrew find themselves traveling to a new destination. One that is much colder, and not just in temperature alone. The harsh climate is home to an amusement park owned by an entertainment tycoon named Mr. Kyte. And when it comes to prestige, greed, and power, he might give Reginald Mandeville a run for his money.
The Marvelous Marvels quickly discover the new master of ceremonies is a ruthless businessman who loves to up the ante with his circus acts. He knows how to work a crowd, and his demands of performers put their safety at risk. The troupe must band together to endure the unique yet hazardous showmanship Mr. Kyte expects of them.
On top of that, Janie finds herself indebted to Mrs. Mandeville after a mishap during her first Marvelous Marvels performance. She will have to rely on her new friendship with Shay to carry out the task of paying Caroline an owed favor. All while dodging the antics of Mr. Kyte, avoiding Reginald, and navigating her feelings about Andrew.
After finishing The Mandevilles' Marvelous Marvels, I couldn’t wait for this sequel. And the magic continues to enchant with this one! I’m already itching for the next one!
This flows just as easily as the first one. Captivating me from the start. I love following this traveling circus. And while we see the same familiar faces, we meet a few new ones both good and bad.
As well as getting to see a little more magic, but nothing over the top. And while I was hoping for more at the end of the last one, I am happy with it being a bit more subdued on the magic side. I found the magic we see to be very tasteful additions to this story. While yes, it’s there, it’s not the focus of our story. Our focus being the circus and it's very much enchanting! These magical elements just make it even more so.
And I don’t want to spoil anything but the one major hope I had for this sequel and our main character happened. And I couldn’t have been happier!! I’m so freaking happy about it! I literally squealed and I can’t wait to see how things continue to play out for her in the next one!
Overall, I absolutely adore this traveling circus and can’t wait for the next book! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys urban fantasies especially set around a circus!
