Rating: 3/5
Ten years after the horrific murders at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that ripped their town apart, Charlie -- whose father owned the restaurant -- and her childhood friends reunite on the anniversary of the tragedy and find themselves at the old pizza place which had been locked up and abandoned for years. After they discover a way inside, they realize that things are not as they used to be. The four adult-sized animatronic mascots that once entertained patrons have changed. They now have a dark secret... and a murderous agenda.
I had been eyeing this one for a while. I’ve always found Five Nights at Freddy’s captivating. I remember watching Markiplier’s videos of his gameplay when it was first becoming popular back when I was in high school.
Picking this up, I didn’t know what to expect. I found the story moved quickly. Some parts felt rushed. I wish we had gotten some more of the story, maybe a longer-length graphic novel. I found it enjoyable, but I didn’t love it. I wasn’t blown away.
I will say I’ll probably still pick up the others. Just to see how they are. But unless you really enjoyed FNAF, you might not enjoy this one.
Since reading this, I have discovered this is a full-length novel, so I might read that and revisit this to see if my thoughts have changed. If you're interested in this graphic novel, I'd suggest checking out the novel first.
