Here are some notable books from my 2025 reads!

It's been a while since I've done one of these posts. But with how many books I read, I really wanted to share some of the more notable reads! Out of 135 books read, I found several new favorites! But I also just found some books that stood out for one reason or another and wanted to give them a shoutout. Reviews for each to come in 2026!
I did change up my list of superlatives from the last time I did this. But I kept some of them from my initial list - Biggest Laugh, The Most Disappointing, etc.
2025 Superlatives List
Most Tender: PS I Hate You by Lauren Connolly
This was such an adorable romance that really pulled on my heartstrings. I absolutely loved following our two MCs!
Most Beautifully-Written: The Matchmaker's Gift by Lynda Cohen Loigman
This was such a sweet historical romance! I adored both timelines and the premise of matchmaking! I couldn't put this one down!
Coziest Read: Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
This easily became a favorite! I devoured this story about this cozy cafe. Our characters were adorable, and the whole premise was so cute! I wish I could reread this for the first time.
Biggest WTF Moment: Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle
There is one scene in particular that plays rent-free in my head from this book. That scene was horrifying and definitely had me saying WTF.
Ugliest Cry: Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
I knew this was going to be a rough read based on the Haymitch we know in the original trilogy, but I truly wasn't ready for the heartbreak this gave me. I was bawling my eyes out at the end of this one!
Biggest Laugh: Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Oh my goodness! I LOVED this one! For a dark romance, this seems wrong to be so funny. But I was laughing all the way through!
Favorite Spicy Read: Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon
Of course, I had to check out this series. But I found this so enjoyable! I definitely will be continuing the series. I need more of these blue aliens!
Cutest Couple: Battle of the Bookstores by Ali Brady
Oh, this book was so cute! Our two MCs were adorable to watch fall in love with each other. The premise was so entertaining. I couldn't get enough of these two lovebirds!
Most Unique: Bloody Black by Rhiannon Hargadon
I found this to be an extraordinary, unique take on a genderbent Blackbird retelling. I loved following our female pirate captain!
Keep an eye out for my list of all my favorite reads of 2025 and an overview of my book club picks soon! And thank you so much for all your support this past year! Happy reading!
