2023 Enchanted Readathon - Week One
Hello, fellow book nerds! Can you believe it's already been a week into this year's readathon?

Let's see... how many prompts have I completed...
3/16
I think I'm doing pretty well for the start of this! A week in and I'm already done with 3 prompts and halfway through my fourth read. I'm proud of that! Especially considering I haven't done much reading lately.
So what did I read?
I read Saga, Volume 10 by Brian K. Vaughan for the The One Ring prompt.
This prompt asked that you read a book that features a journey. I read this one first! And it was a very quick read. I absolutely love this series. The prompt asked that we read a book with a journey, and this could be interpreted in many ways. I thought Saga was a great fit! Though if I'm honest, I did not love this volume. The previous volume left us with a major cliffhanger and this one just has a very different vibe after those events. I'm curious to see how the next volumes play out. I can only imagine what's going to happen next for our characters.
I read Snow, Glass, Apples by Neil Gaiman, Colleen Doran for the Reducio prompt.
This prompt asked that you read a book that was 150 pages or less. This was a shorter graphic novel that gives us a darker gothic retelling of Snow White. I really didn't know what to expect with this one. From the cover alone, I could tell it was a Snow White retelling from the cover. But I truly didn't know what it was about. It was dark and a little creepy. But oh damn, I loved it. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys graphic novels and fairytale retellings!
I read The Walking Dead, Book Nine by Robert Kirkman for the Black Cauldron prompt.
This prompt asked that you read a book that featured zombies. I felt like this was the obvious choice for this prompt. I've been slowly making my way through this series. I absolutely love The Walking Dead and Zombies. However, this was another one that I didn't quite love.We finally meet Negan in this book and although I knew what to expect from the show, it didn't make it any easier to read. But it doesn't deter me from continuing on! I want to see how the rest of the series goes.
So what am I reading next?
I'm currently reading A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne...
However, I think I might be changing what prompt this one is for.
Originally, I picked this one to be my Enchanted Prompt, Hunters of Artemis, where you read a book for a book club or buddy read. After starting this though, I realized just how long this book is, it's over 500 pages! Given its length, I figured I could make this my Engorgio prompt, where you read a book 500 or more pages in length.
I have a book pick each month for my #EnchantedReadsBookClub and A Soul to Keep was my September pick. So I'll be making my book club's October pick, A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw become my pick for the Enchanted Prompt. I was already planning on reading during the readathon anyway. So why not?
That's it for today! Let's see how many prompts I can get through this next week!
