Hello, beasties!
Going into a new month, I seem find myself in a bit of a reading slump. I’m just a bit burnt out. Honestly, I’m not surprised there. I’ve read way more than I genuinely expected to in the first month of this year alone.
So going into this month, I really had no idea what I wanted to read. The books I have here are a mix of book club picks, two of my recommended reads by friends, some gifted books and a book tour read. So I fully expect to get through majority of these this month.
So what did I pull out to try and read this month?
Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix
This is my #PSEnchantedReadsBookClub March pick! This will be our third month meeting and its been so fun reading and discussing our picks. I can't wait to see how this one goes!
Butcher and Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
This is a pick from my 12 Months of Book Recommendations reading challenge. Last year I had asked some of my friends for book recommendations because I wanted to do this reading challenge of reading 12 books of recommended books to me. It could be what ever book they wanted! But it took me a while to gather all of them and then life just got in the way. By the time I was prepared, I decided to just save these for this year! But I never forgot who gave me what recommendations. This book was recommended to me by my friend Elyse, @proseandshows!
Mister Monday by Garth Nix
This is another one of my picks from my 12 Months of Book Recommendations reading challenge. With my romance reading challenge last month, I didn't get a chance to pick up one of these books, so I'll be trying to get through at least two this month! And this book was recommended to me by my boyfriend.
Chasing the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar
One more of my picks from my 12 Months of Book Recommendations reading challenge. This pick was suggested to me by my good friend Jade, @jade.book.files26!
The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher
This was a previous book club pick that I never quite finished, so I'm hoping to finish it this month!
Kate Landry Has a Plan by Rebekah Millet
This is a book tour pick for me! I received an early copy of this title through AustenProse PR to help promote it during its release later this month. So keep an eye out on my review towards the end of the month!
Anywhen by Beth Duke
This was a gifted book from @bookpublicityservices, asking that I review and feature this title on my page!
Tongues, Vol. 1 by Anders Nilsen
This was a gifted early copy from @penguinrandomhouse, they thought this would be a perfect read for me as I love the graphic novel series, Lore Olympus. I think this might be my most anticipated book for this month! I can't wait to see what it's about!
But even as I picked these titles, I already started sensing this month might be more of a mood reading month. Obviously besides the ones I've already promised to read, some of my other picks might change. And there are some other picks like The Hollow Places, books I've started and never quite finished, so I'm hoping to take advantage of not having a theme or specific reading challenge this month and catch up on those. But, we'll see how I feel as the days come!
Until next time!
