True love is at stake in this charming, debut romantic comedy.
Cassie Greenberg loves being an artist, but it’s a tough way to make a living. On the brink of eviction, she’s desperate when she finds a too-good-to-be-true apartment in a beautiful Chicago neighborhood. Cassie knows there has to be a catch—only someone with a secret to hide would rent out a room for that price.
Of course, her new roommate Frederick J. Fitzwilliam is far from normal. He sleeps all day, is out at night on business, and talks like he walked out of a regency romance novel. He also leaves Cassie heart-melting notes around the apartment, cares about her art, and asks about her day. And he doesn’t look half bad shirtless, on the rare occasions they’re both home and awake. But when Cassie finds bags of blood in the fridge that definitely weren’t there earlier, Frederick has to come clean...
Cassie’s sexy new roommate is a vampire. And he has a proposition for her.
Oh, I just adored this one.
This was definitely one that we, the reader knew exactly what was going to happen as we dive into this. But despite it being predictable, I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this!
I found this quirky, cozy, and adorable! As we follow Cassie, a struggling artist, trying to make ends meet, she’s looking for a new apartment when she comes across an ad that seems too good to be true. But she’s desperate, so she decides to go for it despite her new roommate’s unusual habits, which include only being awake during the night hours. What could go wrong?
Based on the title alone, we know exactly what could and would go wrong. But I still had to know how things would play out anyway!
As odd as it seems, I got vibes of the movie, Renfield, except without the horror and dark parts. If you haven’t seen it, I do recommend it! It’s a funny, dark vampire movie. But back to this funny romcom vampire book! Frederick gave me vibes of both Dracula and his assistant, Renfield. And Fredrick also has his own assistant-type friend, whose interactions between other offer some great comic relief throughout the book!
I genuinely couldn’t stop smiling as I made my way through this book. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer! I definitely would have loved to see more of Fredrick. I think he might be my new favorite vampire!
If you enjoy cozy romances and paranormal vibes, I highly recommend picking this one up!
