Haunted Hearts Review

This book has the perfect balance between romance and spirits.

Rating: 4.5/5

Della is a small town girl with a big secret. Born with the gift of third sight, communication with the dead, she is labeled an outcast in Willowbrook. Following the loss of her mother, she is left to navigate life as a medium on her own. Della spends her entire life trying to fade into the background, but someone has a different plan for her. When two handsome brothers move to town, a ghostly woman in white begins haunting Della.

Diedrick Henson and his brother Cain moved to town with the intention to restore the mansion left to them by their estranged father and get back to California as soon as possible. But darkness hangs over the old mansion and Cain, and soon Diedrick begins to question everything he believes. His intrigue only grows when he meets a quirky local girl.

As the paranormal activity intensifies so do the feelings between Della and Diedrick. The lines between reality and the spirit world begin to blur.

Della wonders how she can keep her secret and help the woman haunting her without losing her heart in the process.

I had no idea what to expect with this one. But I found this simply captivating from start to finish! The entire premise was unique and just enchanting.

The entire premise was unique and just enchanting.

We follow Della, who’s lived in her small town her entire life. But she’s seen as the freak of the town. Because she’s a medium, she has the ability to see and talk to the dead. And then we see the Henson brothers move into town, inheriting the old rundown mansion. We get to see the perspective of one of the brothers, Diedrick who’s immediately drawn to Della. Della feels it too, but she also starts to see more spirits whenever she’s around him or his brother. Things intensify the more time she spends with them and Della feels the need to figure out why.

I adored Della, I felt for her the more we get to know her and what she experienced growing up being a medium. And despite all that, she is such a sweet person. I especially loved how she lost herself around Diedrick, her thoughts were so entertaining to follow.

And speaking of Diedrick, this hottie was so swoon worthy. I loved how he tried to win Della’s affection. Their budding relationship was so cute! I loved reading every minute of it. Oh! And things get hot ‘n’ spicy around them too! We see several intense moments between these two lovebirds that will surely make you blush! And knowing this is the start of a series I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for Della and Diedrick.

Now let’s talk ghosts, baby! I loved the paranormal vibes we see. While not necessarily scary or creepy, though they had their moments, the ghosts we see are definitely enchanting. It was such a unique storyline involving the paranormal, I loved this take on mediums and spirits.

This book has the perfect balance between romance and spirits. I think this would be a great read for anyone who enjoys paranormal romances! A perfect read for the spooky season!
